Level 27 - Saerk Quest

This quest is available after completing the Saerk's Towers quest with Commander Dursley.

Saerk wants help retrieving the elemental lexicon, an ancient tome rumored to translate the base language of the elementals that would help Saerk's research immensely. The tome was thought to be in Takish'Hiz where it was destroyed. However, new information implies that the tome was never there at all but instead was stolen by a necromancer known as Darkhart. Darkhart kept all of his prized possessions locked in a tower near Melton. The key was part of a medallion that Darkhart wore around his neck.

Darkhart eventually died, but the key and book are likely still in the tower. Saerk tells you that the tower is in the southeastern part of Druid's Watch, east of Melton. To get the key, go to the top of the tower (perferably invisible) where a popup box appears. Take the book, and the guardian of the library appears. Kill the guardian to get the book. The area is full of roaming ghosts and ghouls, so be ready for additional mobs joining in the fight.

Once the area is clear, recast invisibility if you have it and journey to the bottom of the tower. Look for a carved passageway and follow it a significant distance to where it ends in a room. Another popup will appear, as will Darkhart. There aren't any roaming adds in this area, but the room itself has a spectre, his pet, and a frightwolf, so the fight will not be easy. Get the medallion from Darkhart and return to Saerk's Towers.

Saerk tells you that the medallion is not working because it is missing a red diamond with magical properties. You need to go purchase one of these from the dwarves in Moradhim or, if you are not liked by the dwarves, you can go to the Green Rift instead. In Moradhim, look for Grithmil Darkstone, who is in the mining section of town. In the Green Rift, look for Tsekar Kelriss. Either way, the red diamond will cost you 1500 tunar.

Returning to Saerk, you receive 1,785,000 experience and a ring.
