Level 35 - Ambrose Castor Quest:

Highpass

Darkness lurks, and I am helpless to stop it. Ambrose, a former knight of Marr, tells you of an ancient darkness that is reborn of his deeds. He speaks of defeating Deiphobus, an evil whose dark allegiance gave him an unearthly spirit. However, Ambrose has inadvertently let Deiphobus reenter the earthly plane and needs your help to stop him.

Your first task is to journey to the site of Deiphobus’ defeat and slay the keeper of gates, Phoborium. He can be found by traveling to Bastable Village and following the river north. Phoborium is a level 37 caster that is trigger when you approach the marker stone on a hill on the west side of the river.

Ambrose now tells you that the evil has slain his wife and left his mark; Deiphobus is weak but gaining in strength. You need to build the Sacred Evenveil Seal in order to imprison his spirit on this plane. He tells you to seek out Iulias Maphesti in Freeport, a specialist in elven artifacts. Iulius says that the Evenveil Seal has great power, but it was fractured before the burning of the Elddar and the owners slain by the Teir’Dal. In breaking the seal, the spirit from the realm of hate was released and finally slain by elven knights.

The base of the Seal is the Celestial Amulet, which is in the grip of the elf that originally recovered it centuries ago. It was cursed by the Teir’Dal, and the owner, Caeduiel the Scarred, wanders in Al-Farak Ruins. To find him, journey south from Muniel’s Tea Garden to the Nasehir Village. Then travel west to some blue stones at the base of a small hill; Caeduiel is a triggered spawn, and he is a level 37 caster.

The Evenveil Sapphire was lost and eventually destroyed by Teir’Dal magic. However, one of Iulias’ associates in Temby has a similar gem. Lelalia Shavrell is willing to sell the gem for 2325 tunar.

Iulias is able to forge the pieces into the seal and remove the curses, but he needs the faith of Ambrose to restore it to full power. Ambrose tells you to go to Dark Solace and place the seal on the altar to summon Deiphobus. Dark Solace is in South Crossroads; go to Forkwatch and follow the path south. At the actual crossroads (marked by a sign), travel south to the opening in the mountain which is Dark Solace. When you enter the room with the altar, a text asks you to place the seal, which summons Deiphobus, a level 37 caster.

Ambrose is forever in your debt and rewards you with 3,768,632 experience and a piece of armor.
