Level 35 - Demetrios Velspane Quest:

Demetrios is distraught, telling you that his daughter is ill and bed-ridden with a fever. The priests can’t help, although a priestess of Xev has just returned from Qeynos that might be able to help. Priestess Nadya specializes in curses and unnatural taints, and Demetrios wants you to take her a sample of his daughter’s blood and a note.

Nadya (in the white tower) says she will analyze the blood, but in the meantime wants you to go to Madam Thlae in Wyndhaven and purchase some ivory powder. The powder costs 2325 tunar. When you return to Nadya, she tells you that the deadly curse has elements of Bertoxxulous and Innoruuk, and that the victim’s life force is tied to the necromancer that cast it. The nature of the curse indicates that the necromancer appears willing to bargain.

Demetrios now tells you that Lusciar Mekara was a potential suitor for his daughter, but was immediately sent away once a rival revealed his true occupation. Demetrios gives you vials with his wife’s and daughter’s blood and sends you to Freeport to talk to the necromancer.

Lusciar is in the inn. He is disappointed that you came instead of Demetrios. To break the curse, you have to give him the blood and perform some tasks. The first task is to retrieve some artifacts. The idol of malice is in Blackburrow with a gnoll named Yjuri the Vicious. He is near the bottom, in the area where the tunnels start to meet the brickwork. The idol of lust is held by Tseralith, who is located by the rune stones just outside the main entrance of Noctur’s Tower in Mu’lin’s Reach. Go west-southwest from Bobble-by-Water and you will see the Tower.

Lusciar takes the idols and forges the Idol of Zsetikaowa, who was a minor spirit of moral corruption and greed in the service of the dark gods. You must take the idol to the Hazinak Temple and place it in the Pool of Tears, an area sacred to the elves before the fall of Takish’Hiz. Zsetikaowa is a level 39 caster.

Upon defeating him and returning to Lusciar, you are given an amulet for Nadya. She is able to cure the girl, and for your efforts you receive 3,768,632 experience, a new ability, and a piece of armor.
