Level 43 - Royce Sandstalker Quest:

Eternal Desert - Monk Tower

Royce wants to make a shield to gain his dying father's favor. He has a twin sister and brother also vying to get this inheritance. In order to keep them from finding out what he is doing, he needs you to gather the parts for his wooden shield.

The wood itself needs to come from Growthor, an evil treant southwest of the Eternal Tower in the dead forest. This translates to Tak`Xiz South, in the NE quadrant. He spawns in the dead forest in a steep valley with a large marker stone. He has a fast respawn and is level 43.

Royce now needs to bind the shield together. He feels that the best material for this is sinew from the undead. There is an undead Tomb Keeper in the cultist barrow of Thenon the Wise that might have it. The barrow is along the river between Forkwatch and Darvar Manor. The cultists see invisibility and have an immediate respawn if looted. At the first room in the barrow, take the left hallway--it leads directly to the room with the Tomb Keeper (level 43). Beware of the 4 level 44 ghouls that guard him, though.

The final components for the shield are the straps. Royce tells you that a Tae Ew scavenger southwest of Growthor will have the best ones. The scavenger is also level 43 and can be found in Tak`Xiz South (SW) in a Tae Ew camp. The critters in and around the camp range from 42-46, so be prepared.

With all the parts in hand, Royce sends you to Ravarld in Highpass to assemble them. He is in the room furthest from the coachman and charges you 2652 tunar for the work.

When you give the completed shield to Royce, he rewards you with 4,614,516 experience, an Earring of the Tower, and a new ability.
